Best TV Show EVER! It's started showing up again on TV, and I saw last two epizodes yesterday... and as usually, they were quite awesome!

One of the best TV Shows I've ever seen! It is that simple ;-)

Do you consider yourself a Math geek? Then this TV show is right for you... and actually, it's quite enjoyable.

"Band of Brothers" (2001) (mini)
10/10
Amazing movie-series. I didn't have change to see this earlier, so I've downloaded it at my new dorms. So far, I've seen only two epizodes and they were just astonishing. The action, sound, the way camera moves... all the killing/dying and realistic depction of WW II reality. You just cannot think 'bout anything else whilst watching it!
0.3
"Greek" (2007)
9/10
Amazing TV Show about life on American college campus. More than inspirational ;-)
0.3
28 Weeks Later (2007)
10/10
Another silly movie about zoombies / lethal-virus infection? I wouldn't say so... The only actors I knew was Harold Perrineau (Michael @ Lost) and Jeremy Renner (Lords of Dogtown); but apart from that, the plot was great and catchy, digital-effects quite effective and movie as a whole more than enjoyable.
0.3
3:10 to Yuma (2007)
10/10
Quite amazing movie... I enjoyed going back to 'wild west' times, the cruel world in which everyone used to have a gun and had no scruples about shooting those that seemed to cause troubles. It must have been quite difficult just to get by every day, but it must have been quite fun as well ;-)
0.3
There is an interesting story from dorms connected with this movie. My friend Majkl (see post regarding xMas Spinning Marathon) somehow managed to get promo materials (15-meter long narrow strip in particular) and did quite amazing thing - he and his roommates hung it out from the balcony and after few days, they all ended up with conditioned expulsion ;-).
Back to the review - I saw it during Christmas with my brother and kind of expected what it's gonna be about. Killing, slaughter of innocent people, etc.. If Josh Harnett were not one of the main actors, I would not have watched it otherwise... No, I'm not a gay, I just like him as an actor ;-). And he did a good job, not an excellent one, but just ok.
The story goes like this: A small village in Alaska prepares for a '30 days long night' as usually. Everything seems all-right, until a weird guy in local diner appears. He blabbers bullcrap about some people, who are about to come... And as it turns out, people he talks about is a bunch of blood-ever-wanting vampires with supernatural powers, whose one and only goal is to kill all living creatures, dogs included. They are very likely to succeed, but lose eventually. Yep, and Josh Harnett is the one who stops them (and dies, of course...).
If you have one afternoon to kill, go for it. If you're looking for a blood porn, go for it. If you like Josh Harnett, go for it. If you don't fit into any of three aforementioned categories, go for something else.

A Mighty Heart (2007)
10/10
A story about Daniel Pearl, his kidnap/murder in Pakistan. Quite touching movie (with Angelina Jolie!), can certaily recommend it.
0.3
Aliens vs Predator - Requiem (2007)
5/10
A nice movie for Saturday evening ;-). This is just a porn -- there is no deeper message in this movie, all you get is some blood/dead alien... And I'm not saying that this is not a bad thing ;-). Watching this movie will remind you of the old series, which were awesome. Watching movies like this one is fun: you'll forget about the reality you live in as you get scared a bit, and therefore enjoy it much more :-|
0.3
Alpha Dog (2006)
9/10
Quite astonishing movie with amazing cast (B. Willis, J. Timberlake... etc.). Highly recommend spending time on.
0.3
Amazing Grace (2006)
10/10
A movie I read about a few months ago. I somehow managed to miss it in the cinema and I coincidentally ran into it during my "Christmas visit" at home. Amazing Grace is a story about young british MP representing Yorkshire - William Wilberforce (Ioan Gruffudd), living in ...th century England. It's a story about his efforts to abolish slavery, or better to say slave trade, and change people's perceiving of black people in general. If you know me well, you know how deeply I admire movies depicting England in middle-age with brilliant actors speaking aristocratic English. But that is not why I gave this movie 10 stars...
After a long time, I saw a movie with a message within it. One would never believe that trying to convince MPs in London about equality of men took so many years. Wilberforce had to "cheat" in first place in order to prevent slave ship from transforming (that is killing most of) hundreds of black people. Anyway, our hero William manages to win the battle, and slave trade is finally abolished with a huge support of almost all MPs.
Apart from the actual content of this wonderful movie, I have to praise both actors and sceneries. They are just amazing. Not to mention aristocratic English, which I simply enjoy more than anything else. Do I have to write that I recommend seeing this movie? Hope not...

American Gangster (2007)
10/10
Riddley Scott, Russel Crow and Denzel Washington -- quite well-known names, aren't they...? And what happens if they do their best and make a movie almost 3-hour long? Something really enjoyable.
I've been planning to watch this movie for some time, and managed to do at the begining of February -- more than three months after cinema release. The story is not that much interesting (USA and its 'drug problem' in 1970s), but it's based on true story. A former limo-drive Frank Lucas (D. Washington) of one of the most respected Mafia guy in Harlem starts running his 'own business'; and does quite well. Understanding basic rules of economics, Franc defeats his competitors by selling better good at lower price. After few months, he is doing extremely well, gets quite important etc.
On the other side, there is xxx xxx (Russel Crow) who fights against guys like Frank. The problem is, Frank is a black man, so it takes some time before they actually realize that Frank is the one who runs the whole business, and not just some poor little guy working for someone else. However, in the end, xxx finds out about every little detail of Frank's elaborated system and arrests him.
But the movie does not end here -- Frank as a true gangster has many valuable information not only about other bad guys, but also corrupted policemen. He decides to help xxx out and therefore does not spend the rest of his life in jail. The fact that almost 3/4 of anti-drug department is somehow related to drug dealing is both shocking and interesting, but no surprising. Ya know -- power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely... especially in institutions run by state. But I guess this has nothing to do with the movie itself. Ending as usually, if you haven't seen this movie, you should ;-).

American Pie (1999)
5/10
"American Pie?", you say? Well, it was New Year's eve, Martin came over and from the movies that were available, we watched this one ;-). And we had lot of fun, especially me as this was the first time I saw it in English. Sometimes, I really do enjoy stupid comedies, and American Pie is classic, at least for our generation...
0.3
Any Given Sunday (1999)
10/10
Al Pacino, Jamie Foxx... american fotball. hell yeah!
0.3
Australia (2008)
10/10
Amazing (and very long) movie... went to see it with Eliska H. and her boyfriend, and we had quite a lotta fun ;-)
0.3
Balls of Fury (2007)
4/10
My first watched-at-iPod movie. I took me several days to finish it (you know: commuting, lectures, bed-time), but it was worth it. It's a great movie for easy-going times, when you don't have to think about anything. It reminded me Blades of Glory, but I have to say that it was a bit more boring as there as no Will Farell. However, can recommend if you have an afternoon to kill.
0.3
Banlieue 13 (2004)
7/10
A French action-shot movie with world-famous parkour fellas, cheesy story, but good one for relaxation :-)
0.3
Becoming Jane (2007)
9/10
I watched this movie with my pal Martin (a.k.a. Hurvajz), and we enjoyed it quite a bit! Even though there were moments I did not understand anything, this movie is a must-see for those of you who like English as much as I do...
A story about Jane is based on true story and shows the difficulties that young women living in UK few centuries ago had to face... They were not respeted and viewed only as 'supporters' for men. Despite of the fact that I would totally agree with this ;-), it is obvious that quite a big change in society took place...
But even in that time, ladies who were strong enough and managed to manifest their extraordinariness became both independent and successful. And Jane Austen was one of them...

Bedazzled (2000)
7/10
Another movie I've seen in TV whilst my stay at home... and it was quite fun, unfortunately, not in Englsh :-|
0.3
Boys Don't Cry (1999)
10/10
Hillary Swank in an independent drama about a girl, who wanted to be a boy ;-).

0.3
Cloverfield (2008)
9/10
I personally enjoyed this movie quite a bit, even though reviews I read were rather mocking and derisive. Maybe I'm dumb ;-)
0.3
Collateral (2004)
10/10
A GREAT movie with Jamie Foxx and Tom Cruise from 2004 (Cruise had not been smeared with all that scientist-shit back at that time). And it has even better soundtrack!
0.3
Incredibly stupid movie with Martin Lawrence, but I kind of enjoyed it...
0.3
Cruel Intentions (1999)
10/10
Watched on TV (in Czech...); I've seen it before but kind of forgot about it; and now I've realized that it's actually pretty amazing movie. Worth watching!
0.3
Death Race (2008)
7/10
Jason Statham as an inmate racing driver, pretty funny but mostly cheesy as well...
0.3
Delta Farce (2007)
6/10
Most people won't agree with me, but I found this one pretty well-thought out. Just imagine -- you're supposed to go to Iraq and instead, you're accidentaly dropped off in Mexico. And as you land in some desert region, that might actually resemble Iray, you'll actually think that you're in Iraq ;-).
I know, it probably sound crazy-stupid, but I can certainly recommend watching this motion-picture!

Elizabeth: The Golden Age (2007)
7/10
I went to see this movie to Palace Cinemas, and do not regret it at all. Even though I read few reviews that were a bit depreciating for this movie, I can definitely recommend it.
I don't know if you are into historical movies, but so far I've seen only few movies that were actually watchable from beginning to end. Troy was one of them, as well as 300. And I guess Elizabeth - The Golden Age is another one. You'll get to know what the relations between England and Spain looked like few centuries ago. And you'll get to wonder how real was the stuff depicted in the movie - how lucky that monarchies are over now, right? ;-)
I love Clive Owen, and he did amazing job here. I'm planning to see Shot'em Up in few upcoming days, so I'll get a chance to compare his performance with in something completely different. As I said - if you get a chance to see this movie, make sure you won't miss it.

Evan Almighty (2007)
7/10
Evan Almighty is new Bruce. The only difference would be that instead of crazy anchor we got a senator this time... who decides to build an ark ;-).
0.3
Fälscher, Die (2007)
10/10
Quite a good movie about WWII, con. camps and the programmes that were run by Nazis.
0.3

Malery pana účetního, an amazing italian film... well, it's italian, so it's super silly, but it's worth watching ;-)
0.3
Fight Club (1999)
10/10
How much can you know about yourself if you've never been in a fight? That is the question. One of the best movies I've ever seen. Certainly can recommend reading the book that is was based upon -- Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk.
0.3
Flags of Our Fathers (2006)

Pretty decent movie about WWII, and its twisted political reality by C. Eastwood.

Gympl (2007)
6/10
Another Czech movie I've seen after a very long time... even though it was quite boring, I liked it. It gave a pretty accurate picture of Czech school system.
0.3
Halloween (2007)
4/10
So far, I've seen all the Michael Mayers related movies, so I had to go for this one as well ;-). After reading few reviews, I was quite sure that it won't be that good movie, so I put it on my iPod and watched it during my commuting/lunch/cooking. And I'm glad I did that... the movie is not that bad, if you enjoy blood/killing, you'll like it, but generally speaking -- there are much better horror movies, including the ones that preceded this.
0.3
Hannibal (2001)
10/10
I buy DVDs packed with newspaper every now and then, and I did so with Hannibal as well. It's been quite a long time since I saw it last time, and I've never seen it in English. So when I got back from the dentist, I plunged into my new chair and put it on as I did not have anything particularly interesting to do anyway.
Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins), once considered a brilliant psychiatrist, has kind of weird hobby -- eating people. The exact number of his victimes is not mentioned in the movie, but the plot is about the only one who survived and who wants a revenge. The problem is that -- contrary to intensive manhunt run by FBI and other agencies -- Hannibal is "missing" (or better to say, hiding in Firenze).
Claire Starling (Julianne Moore), FBI agent who got popular after interviewing Hannibal, is obsessed with him and willing to do everything in order to catch him. The situation gets interesting after one fucked up FBI operation, after which Agent Starling receives a letter from the very own Hannibal.
The following sequence of events finally leads to his arrest. Not by the police but by men who work for the aforementioned victim with an elaborated revenge plan. Unfortunatelly, it does not work out very well, which si good after all, 'cause the ending is amazing...

Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo...
3/10
Harold & Kumar ;-). silly movie about two stoners who are thought to be the most dangerous terrorists in US... ergo deported to Guantanamo. Could it get even more stupid? Well, yes ;-). But you'll find N. H. Patrick from HIMYM there too!
0.3
Hellboy II: The Golden Army (2008)
10/10
Amazing movie! I usually don't like these sort of movies, but this one is just brilliant and the way they made it... man, you'll love it!
0.3
Hitman (2007)
9/10
Have you ever played Hitman on your computer? If not, you missed a lot... especially learning how to use a wire to kill a person you don't like that much ;-). This movie is game-based, so I'm sure those who has played it, will also enjoy the movie.
Codename 47 -- the hitman himself -- is on of the most wanted man in US for killing well over 100 people. The problem is, noone knows how he likes like... During one of his assignments, he gets tricked (yep, no one is perfect) and actually becomes a "target". However, he manages to escape... and later decides to take revenge.
There is also a girl involved, which is funny as it shows that a perfectly trained serial killer has also the "bright side", which cannot be seen at the first sight. I guess that many people would find this movie a bit ironic -- the number of people that got killed by hitman is just ridiculous, but that's not the point of this movie. You'll have fun, that's for sure!

Hlidac c.47 (2008)
10/10
Went to movies with Lea, and was actually surprised a bit by this movie.

10/10
Julia Roberts, Tom Hanks... amazing movie about american politics!
0.3
I Am Legend (2007)
10/10
Great movie! Will Smith plays a person who survives the deadly spread of a virus, that was supposed to heal the cancer in the first place. He is the only person living in NYC and tries to get in touch with other people who have survived as well...
It reminded me of a Blade series -- people that got infected are not actually dead, they just hide during day and then, in night, they 'go out' and hunt. And yes, they are UV-rays sensitive.
One day, Will almost gots killed... Almost -- he is saved by another survivor, but not for very long time. Those who are infected find out where he lives and guess what: they try to kill him, but they are not very successful in pursuing this goal ;-). Meanwhile, he discovers that he has probably found the cure for the virus. Is he going to die eventually? Well, go and see the movie for yourself, it's pretty worth it!

I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry (2007)
7/10
My first movie when I got back home after the exam time at school. I had to spend 2 hours before going back to my regular online business, so I picked this one. And have no reason to regret. I like (). Even though I fought this would be another stupid comedy, it was different. Chuck and Lerry are two friends, they work as firemen in NY and because there are some financial problems related to Larry's pension. They find out about some benefits that one can gain from domestic partnership (gay relationship) and decide to marry each other ;-). I know, it might sound crazy, but you will enjoy many hilarious situations. It even gets better when they go for advice to a smokin' hot lawyer (and Chuck hits on her...). However, their marriage gets challanged by a local city council and the whole case ends up at court. What's the ending? Go and see it for yourself...!
0.3
I, Robot (2004)

Just amazing and hilarious movie... Trojan, Machacek and other great actors, you just have to see this movie if you haven't already!

Juno (2007)
9/10
Michael Cera (X-Man) and Ellen Page (Superbad) in main roles of quite funny movie. Girl at high school gets knocked-up, decides to keep the baby and finds a couple who will adopt 'it'. Events get mixed up... and you'll have fun. That's it :-).

8/10
The movie was made by the same folks as "40-year old virgin", and the plot is very similar... You will definitely enjoy quite funny dialogs and the comic situations one can get into just by going to a disco. Bonus: Marshall from HIMYM is there! :-)
